Modern Slavery is an independent, not-for-profit publication of CAL Press. We sell no advertising, have no paid editorial or production staff, and finance this journal entirely through donations, newsstand sales and subscriptions.
Modern Slavery is available in a select number of the best alternative and mainstream independent book stores and newsstands, but it isn’t feasible to rely on newsstand distribution for a book-sized journal like this, except to help get the word out that we exist. Subscriptions are essential and we ask everyone interested or excited about MS to help keep this journal in print by subscribing right now! Our rates are less than the cover price. They’re postpaid. Don’t forget to specify the issue with which your subscription should start! If you don’t specify we will start your subscription with the current issue now available.

All subscriptions are in US dollars; we cannot accept checks or money orders in foreign currencies. Subscriptions are unconditionally guaranteed; if you are not completely satisfied the remainder of your subscription will be refunded. Half-price subscriptions are available to prisoners and the indigent within the US.

(We will try to make a limited number of free subscriptions also available to prisoners or the indigent worldwide through donations for this purpose. Please consider donating if you can help.
